Overview: The TonyWild Foundation and Biophilic Conversations Six-Month Conservation Photography Exposure Program is an intensive, immersive mentorship experience designed to train the next generation of visual storytellers for conservation. Through hands-on fieldwork, rigorous assignments, expert-led sessions, and real-world conservation storytelling projects, five selected participants will develop the skills, vision, and network to drive environmental change through photography.


Program Duration: 6 Months
Cohort Size: 5 Participants
Location: Hybrid (Virtual sessions + In-person fieldwork in Kenya and partner sites)


APPLICATION CRITERIA

Eligibility:

  • Ages 18–35
  • Passionate about nature, wildlife, and environmental issues
  • Residing in or able to travel to Kenya (for field sessions)
  • Basic knowledge of photography (beginner to intermediate level)
  • Must commit to the full 6-month program

Application Requirements:

  • A short bio about yourself and what got you into photography (200 words max)
  • Motivation Video: “Why do you want to be a conservation photographer?”  (Video should be less than 3 minutes; please make the video public or unlisted so that we can access it on YouTube, Google Drive or Vimeo link)
  • Portfolio: up to 10 images that showcase your storytelling potential
  • One reference letter (optional but encouraged)
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview
