
TonyWild Foundation and Biophilic Conversations Six-Month Conservation Photography Exposure Program with Anthony Ochieng Onyango
Overview: The TonyWild Foundation and Biophilic Conversations Six-Month Conservation Photography Exposure Program is an intensive, immersive mentorship experience designed to train the next generation of visual storytellers for conservation. Through hands-on fieldwork, rigorous assignments, expert-led sessions, and real-world conservation storytelling projects, five selected participants will develop the skills, vision, and network to drive environmental change through photography.
Program Duration: 6 Months
Cohort Size: 5 Participants
Location: Hybrid (Virtual sessions + In-person fieldwork in Kenya and partner sites)
APPLICATION CRITERIA
Eligibility:
- Ages 18–35
- Passionate about nature, wildlife, and environmental issues
- Residing in or able to travel to Kenya (for field sessions)
- Basic knowledge of photography (beginner to intermediate level)
- Must commit to the full 6-month program
Application Requirements:
- A short bio about yourself and what got you into photography (200 words max)
- Motivation Video: “Why do you want to be a conservation photographer?” (Video should be less than 3 minutes; please make the video public or unlisted so that we can access it on YouTube, Google Drive or Vimeo link)
- Portfolio: up to 10 images that showcase your storytelling potential
- One reference letter (optional but encouraged)
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview
