A Global Initiative for Environmental Justice and Conservation
Biophilic Futures is a global initiative that bridges African and Afro-descendant communities in environmental justice and conservation. By integrating Indigenous ecological knowledge, scientific innovation, and policy advocacy, the initiative nurtures sustainable action across key environmental themes: Oceans; Water, Species, Air, Soil, and Forests. Through multi-sectoral collaborations, Biophilic Futures will empower historically marginalised communities, amplify local solutions, and drive systemic change in conservation governance.
Objectives:
– Strengthen transcontinental networks between Africa and Afro-descendant communities for climate action.
– Promote Indigenous knowledge systems and their role in biodiversity conservation.
– Engage youth, policymakers, private sector stakeholders, and civil society in sustainable conservation efforts.
– Develop economic opportunities through nature-based solutions and green entrepreneurship.
